Research on the Future: Development of a New Generation of Sodium Batteries in the KeNaB-ART Project

Higher safety, long service life, low-cost components - the solid-state battery has the potential to replace existing battery types, which today predominantly use liquid electrolytes and active materials containing lithium, in the future.

Together with our project partners, we are researching the potential of sodium solid electrolyte batteries in the project "Ceramic-based sodium battery with beta-aluminate for applications above room temperature" (KeNaB-ART). As a specialist in the production of battery materials, we are contributing our expertise in researching high-quality materials and active materials to develop a high-performance powder for use as a cathode material.

The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) as part of the "Battery 2020 Transfer" funding initiative.
