Weimar, 22 May 2023 – IBU-tec advanced materials AG (“IBU-tec”, ISIN: DE000A0XYHT5) is pleased to announce the acquisition of another major Asian pharmaceutical company as a new customer. The international generics manufacturer has now signed an initial contract for the supply of IBU-tec’s product tributyltin chloride (TBTCl). The chemical catalyst is produced by the IBU-tec Group company BNT Chemicals in Bitterfeld and is used in the manufacture of blood pressure medication.

Thus, IBU-tec is further expanding its position as a supplier of high-quality catalysts for the pharmaceutical industry and has now gained its second major Asian customer for TBTCl. The total volume of the order is initially around 100 tons in the current year, with expected sales in the single-digit million Euro range.

The number of people worldwide suffering from hypertension is steadily increasing. By 2025, approximately 1.5 billion people will be affected. TBTCl is an important component in the chemical synthesis of drugs. IBU-tec is currently in advanced discussions with potential customers in the healthcare sector.

Jörg Leinenbach, CEO of IBU-tec: “This order shows that quality made by IBU-tec is increasingly in demand worldwide. We offer our customers our own high-quality products with which they can produce sustainably and achieve competitive advantages in the global marketplace. This is what makes IBU-tec successful in all our business areas and is the engine of our growth. In the current year, we will significantly increase our sales from around EUR 54 million to EUR 62 to 64 million and achieve a double-digit EBITDA margin.”
